We are very close to passing the film incentive bill. All signs point to SB1409 being heard on the floor of the Arizona State House of Representatives early next week, April 19 or 20.
We are almost there, and we can’t take any vote for granted. Please, if you haven’t contacted your House Representatives to ask them to support SB1409, do so now. If you have contacted them, do so again.
Following are links to all the Representatives: http://www.azleg.gov/MemberRoster.asp?Body=H
To find out who your Representatives are, go to: http://www.azleg.gov/alisStaticPages/HowToContactMember.asp or you can call the House Information Desk and ask at 602.926.4221.
Thank you for your commitment to film in Arizona and to the film industry jobs and infrastructure that will bring much needed revenue to our state.

Last month the new Arizona Motion Picture Tax Incentive bill, SB1409,
passed a Senate Commerce Committee hearing 7 to 1. Next week will be
the real test. SB1409 moves to the Senate Floor where it will be voted
on. If the bill doesn’t pass, Arizona has absolutely no chance of
competing with New Mexico, Louisiana, Georgia or any of the other
states with wildly successful film incentive programs (for evidence
see articles below).
To insure that the bill passes, we need you to contact your Senators
no later than Tuesday, March 9th. Ask them to support SB1409, and
tell them why you, personally, believe there are economic benefits to
having the film industry in our state.
You can find out who your Senator is here: http://www.azleg.gov/alisStaticPages/HowToContactMember.asp
You can find their contact information here: http://www.azleg.gov/alisStaticPages/HowToContactMember.asp
If you e-mail them, make sure your street address is prominent.

IFASA is honored to welcome veteran stuntman Jack Young as the guest speaker at our next meeting. The April IFASA meeting is on Monday, 5 April, at 6:00 PM at the Main Library, Catalina Meeting Room (2nd floor and go left), 101 N. Stone. Parking in the underground garage is free after 5:00 PM. He worked with legends such as John Wayne, Clark Gable, Burt Reynolds, Dom DeLuise, and Hal Needham. He was a big part of Old Tucson’s glory days.
