Jan. Meeting at Main Library

The January IFASA meeting will be held on Monday, January 4, at 6:00 PM.  The location is the Main Library, 2nd Floor Meeting Room, 101 N. Stone.  Parking in the underground garage is free after 5:00 PM.

The meeting will feature our annual open forum on what our members want from IFASA in the next year.  This is a chance for all filmmakers to give their input on how IFASA can best serve the local film community.  Everyone is invited to share their opinions and suggestions and help guide YOUR organization in the upcoming year.  See you there.

December Meeting features Craig Huston, 1st AD

The December IFASA meeting will be Monday, 7 December, at 6:00 PM at Access Tucson, 124 E. Broadway. Our speaker will be career professional 1st Assistant Director Craig Huston.

Our speaker will be career professional 1st Assistant Director Craig Huston. Craig has been 1st AD on over 25 major films including First Blood, The Beautician and the Beast, and Uncommon Valor, as well as on over 40 television series and movies including Charmed, Love Boat: The Next Wave, and Under Siege. He was also 2nd AD on 14 major films including Heaven Can Wait, The Eiger Sanction, and Lipstick. It will be a very interesting and informative meeting. Everyone is welcome.

Also, the December meeting is the time for our annual IFASA board elections. Please, everyone attend to either run for a position or vote for your new board members. Only those who have paid your $10 annual dues can vote or run. To run, you must also have attended three IFASA events in the last six months, which may include the December meeting and any workshops, screenings, and mixers.

October Meeting – Access Tucson Tour

The October IFASA meeting will be held this Monday, October 5, at 6:00 PM at Access Tucson, 124 E. Broadway. The meeting will consist of a tour of Access Tucson facilities which are being made available for rental by non-member filmmakers. These facilities include a 28′ production truck, 25×25 studio with analog control room, 30×40 sound stage with digital control room, and Final Cut Pro edit suites. These are great resources for any filmmaker, which have previously not been available to those who were not members of Access Tucson. Come and find out everything Access Tucson has to offer. It will be a very interesting and informative meeting. Everyone is welcome.

Also, the annual IFASA fall film contest, formerly the Three-Minute Thriller, has been expanded to be the Thirteen-Minute Thriller – bigger and better at no extra cost! More details will be provided shortly, so get your films ready.

September Meeting at New Location

The September IFASA meeting will be this Monday, September 14, at 6:00 PM. The location is new – the Main Library, Children’s Room, 101 N. Stone. Parking in the underground garage is free after 5:00 PM. Our speaker will be Brian Mulligan and the topic will be what he learned at the Producers Guild of America’s “Produced By Conference.” Everyone is welcome.
