The October IFASA meeting will be held on Monday, October 6 at 6:00 PM at Access Tucson, 124 E. Broadway. Our speakers will be Jason Urban and Joe Dunlap, director and producer of the feature comedy Trade In, which is being shot at Aufmuth Motors throughout October. Jason and Joe also worked together on the Civil War epic Lost River. Jason and Joe will discuss their upcoming film and the experience working on a feature that has local financial backing. There is no charge and everyone is welcome.

Media Arts BFA Seniors will hold an open casting call to audition roles for
the 11 fiction short films being produced over the course of the year. The
auditions will take place Friday, September 19 in Harvill 104 at the UA.
Actors will be scheduled in advance to attend time slots between 2:30-6pm.
Actors will perform ?cold? readings with the sides made available at the
audition, and are welcome to come earlier to review the sides.
The production period ranges from late October through mid-December, exact
shooting dates depend on the individual production. Actors work on a
volunteer basis and receive a DVD of the competed film. SAG actors must be
willing to work under the Student Film Agreement. Actors are encouraged to
bring a head shot and resume to the audition.
The films include a range of styles and need male and female actors of
various ages and ethnicities. The films will be presented at the public
screening event “I Dream in Widescreen” at the Fox Theatre May 15, 2009 and
then go on the film festival circuit. Past BFA senior films include 2006
graduate Johnny Pulley’s MOVE ME which screened at the Sundance Film
Festival.

The September IFASA meeting will be held on Monday, September 8 at 6:00 PM at Access Tucson, 124 E. Broadway. The speaker has been changed. (Victoria Lucas will join us in November.) Our speaker will be Howard Allen, who will speak on acting, from the valuable perspective of an actor and director. Actors, directors, and everyone else involved in filmmaking are encouraged to attend. There is no charge and everyone is welcome.
