Char-Leta Productions announce 
 
Feature length romantic comedy about the rise of ‘losers’ and the fall of ‘winners’. 
Two ‘red-neck’ southerners move to Tucson and take on the university graduate-school students.
 
This film is the next feature by the writer/director of Romance at Frisky’s Bar, which was screened four times in Tucson to sold out or nearly sold out audiences, who laughed throughout the film.
 
Auditions beginning after August 14th, 2008.  Total cast will include Ninety-Five members including extras.  
 
Movie will be shot in Tucson and various scenic locations in Pima county.
 
Movie will be shot in High Definition with ’solid state’ Sony camcorder.
 
Also needed, technicians and behind the scenes help.

NBC Universal Announces Comedy Short Cuts Film Festival

Announcing NBC Universal’s Third Annual Comedy Short Cuts Film Festival, a unique showcase of short, comedic films and videos produced with a culturally diverse production team, cast, or theme.

NBC Universal uses this festival as a pipeline for uncovering and developing diverse talent in front of and behind the camera. Semi-finalists’ films will be screened before an industry audience in New York in September in conjunction with the New York Television Festival and finalists will be sent to Los Angeles for an exclusive industry screening in October on the Universal Studios lot.

The winning filmmaker will be given the chance to pitch to NBC comedy development and meet with NBC Universal’s top network, studio, cable, and film executives. August meeting to discuss festival strategies

The August meeting of the Independent Film Association of Southern Arizona
will be held on Monday, August 4 at 6:00 PM at Access Tucson, 124 E.
Broadway. The meeting will feature Mia Schnaible, of the Arizona
International Film Festival, who will discuss film festival strategies for
filmmakers.
